Scope of Work

The potentials of renewable energy and energy efficiency to drive economic growth in Ghana cannot be overemphasized. However, the market faces key obstacles such as uncertain policy, lack of finance and low levels of confidence in RE/EE technology and service providers. The project focuses on overcoming these market barriers which so far discourage the use of RE and EE by electricity consumers. Moreover, the project supports public utility companies to prepare for the transition of the energy sector, mainly caused by self-generation of electricity from RE by their customers. Additionally, the project provides training, advisory and other support services to strengthen capacity of key market actors in order to enable companies to increasingly satisfy their energy needs through RE.
